Ashley Mechanical, Inc. is working alongside Daniel O’Connell & Sons during the duration of all Vassar Science Center Projects. We will be responsible for $8 Million dollars of Plumbing installation. The first major installation of the Science Center projects is The Bridge. The planned 80,000-square-foot structure will span two pieces of campus terrain across the Fonteyn Kill and connect to Olmsted Hall with a two-level skywalk and span 410 feet to its other end at the shoulder of Raymond Avenue. There will be modern labs, faculty office suites, flexible classrooms, and gathering places such as a coffee shop and an outdoor seating area.

Construction on the Bridge building began in the summer of 2013 and is to be followed by renovations of New England and Olmsted, and of Sanders Physics starting in 2015. A main goal of the college is to minimize environmental impact in the construction. For their part, the architects are pursuing a LEED Gold rating, looking at every opportunity to save and reuse energy and water.

This project is currently under construction. More information to come.
